To Mahalepi, Ayios Epifanios
The small and very picturesque “Mahalepi” Café should surely be part of your Sunday trip to the mountains. You will find it before entering the village of Ayios Epifanios on the main Nicosia-Paleochori road. And though it is not among the places we talk about often, the café is still well-known and well loved. The reason? The reason is none other than its refreshing mahalepi! In the winter it serves milk mahalepi and in summer the classic mahalepi with rose water and rose cordial. In addition, you can enjoy the view of the river from above as the café is located above the Marulena River.
Plateia, Vouni
Located in the main square of Vouni, this area is one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Cyprus. The old café, with its large interior and lovely courtyard, with its high chairs and blue metal tables reminiscent of a Greek island, has been operating for the past 111 years. It was recently renovated and attracts locals and visitors alike. The menu ranges from roasted coffee to homemade sweets, baklava, soft drinks, zivania and various spirits, to snacks, and pastries.
Gonia ton Aggelon, Vouni
A beautiful, friendly space in the village of Vouni, where you can enjoy the view of the village from the back terrace. Here, you will enjoy a range of different daily prepared sweets, a variety of ice creams, coffee, and hot and cold drinks. Also, make sure you get some of the traditional spoon sweets and refreshing mahalepi.
Mary’s Cafeneio, Askas
A warm cosy place found in Askas village. A stone-built traditional cafe, serving coffees, hot drinks, smoothies, spirits, crepes, pies, and spoon sweets daily from 16.00 until late in the evening and weekends from 08.00 in the morning. Also during your visit, it’s worth visiting and tasting the owners’ homemade zivania and wine, which will be accompanied by a bite to eat.
Café ‘I Plateia’, Pano Lefkara
You will find this cafe on a lovely terrace in the village of Pano Lefkara, and in particular the central square of the village. It is a traditional yet modern hangout ideal for chatting and relaxing, for coffee, desserts, homemade lemonade, and food. Plus, the café features nights with live music that will keep you there until late.
Stafilaris Coffee Shop, Kato Lefkara
It is a traditional stone-built café housed in an idyllic area with a lush courtyard with flowers and grapes. The café serves cold and hot drinks, coffees, spirits, wines, and beers daily from early in the morning, but what stands out is the Cypriot breakfast it offers. Stafilaris Coffee Shop breakfast includes coffee or tea, homemade bread, cheese, halloumi, bacon, Cypriot sausage, olives, tomato, cucumber and a choice of two fried or boiled eggs (€ 7). Here you can also have hot and cold drinks and eat sandwiches and burgers. Make sure you try the spoon sweets, mahalepi, and cakes.
Hovoli Café, Kyperounda
This café has operated in one of the largest mountain villages of Pitsilia, Kyperounda for many years. The coffee shop, found in the town square, in a building with a very traditional style, exudes the warmth and colour of the past, both internally and externally on its front porch. Sit down at one of his tables and order the roasted coffee, traditional mahalepi, homemade spoon sweets, homemade baklava, beers, wine, ouzo, zivania, cold snacks ), soft drinks and lemonade! The shop is open daily from 10.00 to 24.00.

Arodes Café, Arodes
A picturesque coffee shop in the village of Arodes, Paphos province. Here you will enjoy your coffee in the cool courtyard of the café as well as delicious homemade spoon sweets. You will find it behind the church of Agios Calendon in the village square.
