A bright Christmas at these fairylands around Cyprus

Christmas is just around the corner, and it’s the time of the year to celebrate with family and friends, by enjoying some fun filled activities at one of the holiday markets and fairs set up around the island.

Here you will find a list of some of the fun Christmas fairy lands and other activities going on around the island.

Nicosia Christmas Fairyland

Αt the intersection of Iosif Hadjiosif and Troodos avenues, this year from mid-November (estimated around 15-17 of the month) until 12 January 2020, Ayia Napa’s Parko Paliatso will set up its games to offer us unique moments.

Τhe decoration at the fairyland changed and is richer and brighter this year, and takes you to a magical Christmas village, with a house that will serve delicacies, lots of toys and Santa Claus, who will arrive from the faraway Rovaniemi, Finland.

And this year, in addition to games (carousels, ice skating rink, horror train, formula one booster and more) that will entertain young and old alike, there will also be an art program featuring concerts with renowned Greek and Cypriot artists whose names will be to be announced in the coming days.

Open until January 12, and entrance is free.

Christmas in the Town

The capital’s festive village has been set up this year in the courtyard of the Town Hall in Eleftherias Square and has been running from Saturday November 30, 2019.  It will run until Monday January 6, 2020. Young and old alike, experience the magic of Christmas in the fairy-tale village. The fairy-tale Christmas village with unique surprises for children and adults, will feature separate wooden stalls offering delicacies, drinks, and food. The area has carousels, bumper cars, a swimming pool with boats, waterwalkerz water balls, flying elephants, bungee jumping, trampolines, funfair with a wheel of fortune, darts, and shooting. There will also be Christmas music, choirs, orchestras and DJ’s parties filling the city with music and tunes. There are children’s plays, chocolate weekend, Santa Claus and more.

As of December 21, the Christmas village will run from 10am until 10pm.

Limassol Christmas Land

This year’s Limassol Christmas Land was moved to the Old Port this year, and opened its doors on November 29 and for 40 days, until January 12, will run with rides and games from Parko Paliatso. There, besides games for children and adults, there will be an art program this year with concerts by well-known singers, mainly from Greece. Specifically, STAN Antiparotis and Josephine will be on stage (23/12). Indeed, the Limassol Christmas Land will also be visited by Santa Claus, who will arrive in Cyprus from Rovaniemi to give presents to the children (December 15, 16 and 17).

Christmas Wonder

The only village organised by the Municipality of Paralimni every year turning our Christmas into a magical holiday! And this year, in Paralimni, your walks will be dressed in a magical atmosphere that will keep you warm as you explore the beautifully decorated town. From November 29th until January 6th, the most beautiful Christmas Village will be set up in the area, where you will enjoy a spectacle with the largest artificial tree in Cyprus, colourful lights, fairy-tale heroes, parades, train rides, ice rinks and a variety of events for young and old alike.

On Saturday December 21st (16.00-19.30) you will have the opportunity to attend the festive events of Elina’s School Of Music, travel with ‘Christmas Memories’ from the Dance School of Freedom Dance Studio by Elena Nikolaou and enjoy the Christmas concert of the Choir of Paralimni Municipality ‘Melizona’ with the participation of other choirs in the Cathedral of Saint George.

On Sunday, December 22 (15.30), the famous Saint of the Holidays will arrive in Paralimni Municipality with rich gifts in his luggage, accompanied by the Cheerleaders of the ‘Fimi’ Dance School of Emilia Salouta, the Paralimni Symphony Band of Paralimni Municipality mascots. Every child will be able to take pictures with them and get their gift. There you will have the opportunity to enjoy endless roller coaster rides, ice rink games as well as your favourite mascot heroes, and there will also be a wonderful Christmas market.

There will also be an ice rink that runs during the days, and the Christmas train ride will run for free on December 22.

Christmas Village in Episkopi

The magic of Christmas is brought to you for the 4th consecutive year by the “Independent Epidrasi Club”. So this Christmas, Eleftherias Square in the village of Episkopi in Limassol will do its best for a weekend full of activities. Specifically the group is organising a three-day charity Christmas Village on December 20-22, from 10.00 to 22.00. The event’s net proceeds will go towards strengthening the existing community park with various children’s games. Christmas tree lighting, Santa Claus with gifts for children, carousels, face painting, rich gifts lotteries and many other activities for children and adults will compose the festive stage, and a great concert with popular artist Michalis Hatzigiannis at the peak of the day at 19:30 (admission € 7, pre-sale € 5).

Magic Christmas Village

So Masterland, the favourite “town” of children invites kids and parents this weekend to celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season. Kids will have the chance on Saturday and Sunday throughout the day to write a letter to Santa Claus! There will also be gifts and crafts, competitions and a Christmas Bazaar! Every day during the Masterland festive season, all children and their families will be presented with a magical Christmas program.

The Magic Christmas village will run until January 5 in Limassol.

Christmas Avenue in Evrychou

Evrychou is a picturesque village of Nicosia district, about 50 km southwest of Nicosia and 30 km from Troodos located on the old Nicosia – Troodos road. A village that invites us every season of the year for leisurely strolls and excursions. And the same goes for the holiday season, when the village organises a number of interesting events! Among these events is the Christmas Avenue, which will be open on Sunday, December 29th from 10 am-9pm in the town’s square. There you will find a warm Christmas atmosphere with songs, Christmas creations, Santa Claus, toys and of course abundant zivania and chestnuts!
