The village of Frenaros will be hosting its 12th Watermelon Festival on July 13 starting at 20:15.
Watermelons are a summer favourite in Cyprus, and are grown locally. The festival, at the village’s stadium, will also feature a variety of products produced from watermelon, including a spoon sweet, ice cream, and watermelon cocktails.
Visitors will also have a chance to learn about the island’s traditional crafts, such as halloumi-making, and the production of woven chairs.
Children can head to the face painting section, where the watermelons will be painted on them. There will also be a play area for children at the festival.
Guests will also be able to buy local products from vendors at the event.
A concert with local artists will also take place.
Entrance is free.
