Overview
Gypsy songs are presented by the singer Atys in an expceptional holiday spirit on December 21 at 20:00.
The main part of the repertoire includes gypsy songs from the region of the Mediterranean, Eastern Europe and the Balkans and is enriched by other songs, presented in the same “gypsy” style.
Atys was born in Famagusta on February 10, 1982. She sings fluently in sixteen different languages and dialects, such as French, English, Romanian, Roma, Bulgarian, Spanish, Greek, Greek Cypriot, Turkish, Russian, Serbian, Portuguese and others. She also studied classical violin.
She started her career by adapting and interpreting gypsy songs. For 10 years (2003-2013), she has performed in festivals and concerts in Southern France, such as the Château au concert de Perdiguier, the Nîmes Festival de musique, the Perpignan festival, the Toulouse festival and the Chateau de Cassan . She collaborated with the “Complot Eminent Tzigane” and “QuaiJazz” band and created the “Atys Duo”. In 2014 he returned to Cyprus, where she married the composer and performer Larkos Larkou with whom she collaborates artistically.
