Overview
May 18th 2018 will be celebrated as the International Museum Day across the globe with hundreds of museums participating with activities, tours and special exhibitions lasting the whole day, weekend and sometimes week. The day follows a different theme each year, 2018’s topic is “Hyperconnected museums: New approaches, new publics”.
The objective of the International Museum Day is to reinforce the role of museums in society and highlight their importance and contribution in cultural exchanges and enrichment of cultures. Participation in the celebration is growing among museums all over the world. In 2017, more than 36,000 museums participated in the event in some 157 countries.
In Cyprus over 20 museums all over the island are taking part with activities, walks and exhibition. Check out the museums and the full program here
