The International Short Film Festival of Cyprus will take audiences on a literary journey on October 17 at 17:30, with event ‘Words on Film’ looking to connect cinema and literature.
Literature and Cinema are two forms of art, intrinsically connected since the early history of Cinema and up until contemporary times. The world film archive includes innumerable short and feature films based on or inspired by literary works. Hence, this year’s edition explores and focuses on the multi-dimensional relation between Cinema and Literature, with the invaluable contribution of acclaimed Greek writer and director, Achilleas Kyriakides.
1st Part:
Discussion about the relation between literature and cinema with this year’s Jury President, Greek writer and director Achilleas Kyriakides.

2nd Part: Words on film by 4 writers
Words, image and sound. In the second part of this event, four talented Cypriot writers will recite their own literary work, inspired by four experimental short films without dialogue. A live recitation session will accompany the screening of each of the following short films:
