Located in the town of Limassol at the start of Enaerios pier, the beach of Akti Olympion is a continuation of the Akti Olympion B beach, and together they form a two kilometre strip that is considered to be one of the most accessible and convenient in the city, offering a wide variety of amenities.
The beach is made up of dark, grey sands and boasts clean, calm waters, making it suitable for all, including families with children.
Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas and water sports. The strip is lined with cafes, bars, restaurants, kiosks, hotels and entertainment establishments. In the general area a host of further facilities can be found, including a children’s playground, beach volleyball court, shopping and accommodation.
Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from April – October, 09:00 – 17:00, and until 18:00 during the summer season. The beach also offers disabled access, including a special wheelchair at the lifeguard tower to help disabled persons enter the sea with assistance from the lifeguards. Moreover, an innovative system (Seatrac) that offers autonomous full access to the sea for the disabled is also installed on the beach.
The pier of Enaerios is popular with anglers, and its square offers sheltered benches in a grassy area with lush trees. The beach is also a good starting point for exploring the area further, with plenty to see and do, just a short step away from its sands.
Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with a pedestrian zone and cycling lanes, as well as car-parking facilities.
