A summer piano concert with Stavroula Thoma, entitled ‘Summer Nocturne’ will take place at Technopolis 20 in Paphos, on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 8:30pm.
The programme will include works dedicated to the night, by Debussy, Chopin and Hatzidakis that have composed pieces entitled ‘Nocturne’, each of them with their own unique and individual style. Clementi composed a Fantasia and variations based on the folk French song ‘Au Clair de la Lune’ (In the light of the moon). The moonlights’ evocation is perfectly conveyed in the opening of this piece.
The programme will also include Liszt’s ‘Benedection de Dieu dans la Solitute’ (The Blessing of God in Solitude) that adds on an almost sacred character to this music collection. Finally, Manos Hatzidakis in his suite ‘For a White Seashell’ presents his native Greek folk origin a music journey that takes the listener to an imaginatively singing and dancing mood
