Overview

Start your walk down Larnaca’s seafront on Finikoudes promenade with a stop at the local Municipal Art Gallery at the top of the street which is also home to the only Paleontology Museum in Cyprus. With the sea as a backdrop visit the gallery’s permanent collection from Cypriot and international artists and get a feel of the island’s contemporary artistic talent.

Housed in an old colonial building, it displays exhibitions across four interconnecting halls that range from sculptures to paintings and modern constructions. The Paleontology Museum holds a prehistoric collection of fossils including extinct animal bones. Here you can explore Cyprus’ creative scene with the company of the sea breeze.

The museum’s open all year round (except on public holidays) with free entry . Opening and closing times, as well as entrance fees may change from time to time so it’s best to check before visiting.
