Overview
Located in the seaside town of Mazotos in the Larnaca district, the Petreon Sculpture Park features an impressive sculpture collection by local artists.
The park’s name derives from the Greek work ‘Petra’, meaning stone, and an 8.5-metre-high statue dominates the park, named ‘Petreos’ – ‘the man born from the stone.’
Petreon has a permanent open-air exhibition with pieces from the artist Savva Koulendros. There is also a small stone church in the park, along with the Liasidion Amphitheatre.
Visitors can also explore the gardens in the park, which have a number of cactus species and other flowering plants.
The park is open all year round, but is closed on public holidays.
