Changes are coming to the Larnaca District
Larnaca is a quaint city by the sea, and the villages around it are becoming ever more popular among visitors looking to explore the culture, art, and traditions of Cyprus.
There are significant works taking place in the whole region, which are being conducted to better the various structures, but also restore them to their former glory.
Enlargment of Lefkara’s central square
The first phase of works to enlarge the central square in the village of Lefkara was recently completed. The roads in the area have been laid with stones, and sidewalks have been placed in the area.
Multi-functional Conference Centre in Lefkara
Works on the centre will be completed by the end of the summer. The multi-functional centre will be able to fit 400 individuals, and will also have smaller conference rooms.
Lengthening of the seaside promenade in Voroklini
The second phase of the project in Voroklini will finish in April, and the promenade will start from the restaurant Mer Blue and extend to the Lebay hotel. In September the works for the third phase will begin. The promenade will extend to the end of the town.
Renovation works to centre of Leivadia village
The centre of the town will undergo renovation works that will finish two years from now. The works will focus on the town’s square, the Memorial Museum Kalamourgikis and the Ayia Paraskevi Park. The roads will be inlaid with stones and sidewalks will be created as part of the project.
Second phase of works on the seaside promenade and bike path in Pervolia
The second phase of works will begin on the seaside promenade, which will extend from the Journalists’ Village to its border with the town of Meneou.
Works in Choirokitia
The village will undergo restoration works, which begin in 2019 and will finish in three years. Stones will be inlaid on the roads, and more lights will be added.
Zygi Linear Park
Huts will be added to aid swimmers and there will be a refreshment station available for visitors, as well as, a sidewalk and parking area. Works have already begun and are expected to finish by summer.
Landscaping works at the riverbed in Tochni
The works are expected to begin in the coming weeks and last 27 months. The work will start from the bridge south of the village and run along the river for approximately a kilometre. The plans include a walkway and green spaces.
