Overview
This festival began its journey in 2002 as the first Small Documentary Festival. It was later re-named Countryside Animafest Cyprus – Views of the World focusing exclusively on the art of Animated Film with its uniqueness being its countryside location.
It is the first of it’s kind and the only animation festival in Cyprus and its activities include expert seminars and workshops, academic forums, special screenings thus encouraging international collaboration and artistic development. The goal of the festival is to cultivate the art of animation, by raising audience awareness and promoting cultural, financial and social development in the field of independent animation film-making.
Animafest 2018 also holds an International short film Competition, a Children International short film Competition and a National (Cyprus) Competition.
