Overview
Are you looking to see a great sporting event while you in Cyprus? Look no further, the Beach Water Polo International Tour will be held in Paphos on July 13-15, and will feature a number of teams playing their hearts out at the Mpania beach.
The tournament will be held next to the café/restaurant at the beach, where 25 teams and approximately 150 players from Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Sweden, and Hungary are expected to battle it out for the title.
The teams will pass through a group stage process and then the best two teams of each group will proceed to a knockout stage.
The ultimate aim of the event is to promote water polo and bring as many kids as possible next to the pools for exercise. Therefore, this year’s program will also include two more mini tournaments for kids aged up to 11 years old, and for kids up to thirteen 13 years old. Also, two synchronised swimmers will participate in the opening and closing of the event.
The event has been organised by the Paphos Municipality and the Cyprus Athletic Tourism organisation.
There are a number of packages available for the event, and entrance for locals is €10.
