Second XTERRA Cyprus off-road Triathlon

Akamas National Park 22 April - 22 April

Overview

The XTERRA European Tour—the world’s premier off-road multisport event—will take place in Cyprus for the second time this year.

Considered an extreme competition, the XTERRA combines swimming with mountain biking and trail running. It has been described as one part triathlon, one part mountain bike race, and one part ‘survival of the fittest’.

The event includes a 1.5 km swim, a 30 km mountain bike ride, and a 10 km trail run, with courses designed to enable pros to finish in roughly two and a half hours.

The island provides an experience like no other for the XTERRA Tribe considering its great weather, its extensive nature trails for running and biking, its mountains, clear aqua waters, great food and tasty local beer and wine.

The actual race site will cover the Akamas National Park and Lara Beach (a breeding site for turtles) and the traditional fishing hamlet of Latchi, all located in the Paphos region.

Athletes will start the tour with a sea swim on a sandy beach followed by a two-loop mountain bike ride on dry, sandy and rocky terrain, followed by a run.

The event will start at the Lara Restaurant in Akamas in Paphos. The participation fee is 50 euros for the sprint and 80 euros for the full competition
