Overview
The Antiquities Department in Cyprus will be hosting events across the island to celebrate August’s full moon, an announcement said.
On Sunday August 26, 2018 guests will be able to visit the archaeological sites of Kourion, Ayios Georgios Peyia, and Ancient Idalion to view the full moon.
The sites will open at 19:30 and will remain open until 23:00, and entrance is free.
There will be performances at Ancient Idalion and Ayios Georgios.
At Ancient Idalion, an actor and a musician will perform various pieces. The event starts at 20:30 and will last for 40 minutes. It is being hosted in cooperation with the Foivos Stavrides Foundation.
The archaeological site at Ayios Georgios in Peyia will be featuring a concert by the composer Sotiris Karageorgis. The concert is being held in cooperation with the Peyia Municipality.
At Kourion guests will be able to explore the sites located around the area with the full moon and sea as a backdrop.
