See how its done and learn about its history at the Zivania Wine Museum, located in the picturesque village of Vasa Koilaniou. The museum offers tours journeying from the production to the distillation, storage and consumption of zivania. A visit to this museum is truly an authentic way to get in touch with the culture of zivania as most of the museum’s exhibits have been donated by the villagers themselves.
For those wanting to take something back with them, the museum’s shop offers a variety of products and souvenirs such as photos, books and traditional products like wine, zivania, soutzouko, palouze and delicacies like pretzels from epsima (rusks) and moustokouloura (grape must buscuits).
Operating all year round (expect on public holidays), with an entrance fee of 2 euros, it is advisable to check opening hours and booking tours prior to visiting.
