Overview
Tucked away in the village of Fasoula just outside of Limassol is the multipurpose arts centre Art Nest founded by local sculptor Philippos Yiapanis.
The state of the art centre is built around the Mikri Salamina Sculpture park, which was created by Yiapanis himself. The sculpture park provides an excellent opportunity for a drive into the countryside and a beautifully decorated area which promises an insight into Yiapanis longstanding artistic journey.
According to the artist, Art Nest is the realisation of his dream. His vision was to create a space, which resembles a ship and symbolises the trip to Ithaca.
As an arts centre, Art Nest presents various artistic initiatives and events. In particular, its aim is to bring the countries of the region closer, through art. The space also operates as a contemporary and stylish gallery space where the vast collection of artist’s sculptures. His work is beautifully displayed in a gallery full of light, standing out against the background of hilly landscape. The gallery occupies the ground floor and partly mezzanine level.
