Between Onasagorou and Ledras streets, the most popular streets of Nicosia’s downtown, is situated the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation dedicated to preserving the cultural and natural heritage of the island as well as encouraging the study of Cypriot civilisation. The Foundation specifically focuses in the fields of archaeology, history, art and literature whilst hosting exhibitions, seminars and lectures.
Its big amphitheatre-yard often holds cultural events such as concerts, interactive workshops and the foundation’s activities have been internationally recognized and awarded. Home to two museums; the Museum of the History of Cypriot Coinage and the Archaeological Museum of George and Nefeli Giabra Pierides, the foundation contains a large art collection, many of which are donations.
The actions of the Cultural Foundation don’t end here. It also published books folios on Cypriot archaeology, history, art, literature and the environment. Safe to say, there’ll be plenty for you to discover at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.
