3 Amazing Beaches in Paphos

If your idea for a perfect holiday is to laze on the beach working on that tan, while having ancient sites, bars and restaurants well within reach, then Paphos is the place for you.

With a 50 kilometres coastline and 27 public beaches, this former ancient kingdom of Cyprus is a paradise for swimmers, snorkelers and divers all year round. So, without further ado, here’s a list of four of our favourite beaches in Paphos.

1. Coral Bay

Considered one of the most beautiful areas in the region, Coral Bay is situated in the Peyia region of Paphos.
Its golden sands and calm, shallow waters make it a perfect destination for a family day out. The beach is enclosed by a pair of limestone headlands and has abundant greenery, further enhancing its beauty.

Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas, dustbins, recycling bins and water sports. There are a variety of restaurants, fish taverns, cafes, bars, kiosks and accommodation in the area.
Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from April 15 – October 31, 11:00 – 17:30.

Access is easy by foot, bike, bus or car, with car-parking available and bus stop nearby. The beach also offers disabled access.

2. Vrysoudia beach

This Blue Flag beach, located in the heart of the Paphos tourist area, is popular with both visitors and locals alike, and is easily accessible by foot, bus or car.

It is a 300-metre stretch of sandy beach with calm and shallow waters that offers disabled access. Lifeguards are present on the beach from April to October between 11:00 and 17:00.

Other facilities include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas and water sport activities. There are also a variety of restaurants, fish taverns, cafes, bars, kiosks, convenience stores and accommodation in the area.
Near the beach you will find the Medieval Castle and the archaeological site of the Tombs of the Kings.

3. Latchi

Surrounded by raw, natural beauty, and only a 45-minute drive from Paphos, Latchi beach in the coastal town resort of Polis Chrysochous is a great destination for a family day trip.

The beach boasts golden sands, calm and clean waters and proximity various restaurants, bars and cafes.
Facilities on the beach include toilets, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, umbrellas, and water sport activities. Lifeguards with lifesaving equipment and first aid services are stationed at the beach from April 15 – October 31, 11:00 – 17:30.

The beach offers disabled access, including a special chair to help disabled persons enter the water, with assistance from the lifeguard tower. Moreover, an innovative system (Seatrac) that offers autonomous full access to the sea for the disabled is installed on the beach.
