Located about on the main raid from the village of Karvounas to Troodos at a square approximately a kilometre away from Troodos, this offers stunning views of the valleys surrounding the area.
At the end of the trail, which runs for 9km and should take approximately four hours to hike, you will find the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ayios Nikolaos tis Stegis, a church from the 12th century.
Hikers interested in plants and animals will find the journey interesting as there are a number of endemic plant species, including what locals know as ‘Manouthkia’, a subspecies of the African blood lily.
There are also fox, hare, and hedgehogs along the trail, as well as some reptilian species including the Cyprus viper, lizard and black whip snake.
