Overview
The farmers’ market at ‘OXI’ square in Nicosia is a great experience for visitors seeking a taste of local produce and products. Fresh, seasonal local fruits and vegetables are available at bargain prices.
The farmers’ market is located in the historical setting of the Ottoman Bayraktar Mosque that was built in honour of the flag carrier who first climbed the walls of Nicosia during the siege of the city by Ottoman troops in 1570.
The market is open all year round, every Wednesday and Saturday, starting as early as 6am, with most products selling in the morning. The market usually finishes around 4pm. It is closed on public holidays and is entrance free.
