On the search for a quirky, unexplored gallery, Technis Dromena is the place for you. Held within a traditional house in old Strovolos area in Nicosia, its ambience is as enchanting as its art. The wooden beams of the ceiling, the tall, thin windows, the arch in the middle of the house and the patio it has, are all common elements of traditional Cypriot houses.
Since 2001 when it opened, the gallery holds painting, sculpture and icons exhibitions, with occasional film screenings, poetry nights and lectures. Even if their diary is empty, you can enjoy a drink in their colourful garden.
The museum’s open all year round (except on public holidays) with free entry . Opening and closing times, as well as entrance fees may change from time to time so it’s best to check before visiting.
