Upcoming July Concerts Not to Miss

The summer months are filled with back-to-back festivals, theatre performances and other cultural events that enrich these hot Cypriot evenings. Amongst them are music concerts by beloved Greek and Cypriot singers as well as local and international bands. To liven up your summer nights on the island, we’ve found the concerts that you shouldn’t miss in July.

18th July – Marios Frangoulis, Limassol

With already one concert in Nicosia on the 17th, Greek tenor Marios Frangoulis will enchant the Limassolian coast tonight with his melodies with songs by acclaimed Greek musicians such as Manos Hadjidakis and international artists like Lucio Dalla and Astor Piazzola.

19th July – Women of the Mediterranean, Nicosia

As part of the 3rd Arts Faneromeni 18 Festival that hosts a series of cultural performances throughout the summer at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, a choir of women will create magical music sounds. The group is called the Amalgamation Project and is conducted by musician Vasiliki Anastasiou who will tell stories of Cypriot women and of other women in different parts of the Mediterranean with their music. 23rd July – Jazz with Mood Indigo, Paphos

The garden of Technopolis 20 in Paphos is transforming into a home of music again this summer with weekly live performances. This week, it is welcoming jazz band Mood Indigo for a night of classical swing and jazz. Enjoy the band live, which is one of the most booked jazz bands of Cyprus.

25th July – Dionysis Savvopoulos, Larnaca

One of the most beloved and respected Greek composers and musicians, Dionysis Savvopoulos is coming to the town that hosts migrating flamingos every year, under the “Larnaca Festival 2018”.  He’s a favourite with the local audience so if you wish to enjoy music that’s highly popular with Greeks and Cypriots, this is the concert for you!

25th July – Tyga, Limassol

For those wanting a more up-beat music scene, head to Dolce Club on July 25th to party with American Hip Hop/RnB singer Tyga. The artist is a Grammy award winner and has seen increasing fame over recent years. The party starts at 23:00 so be well prepared for a late night.

28th July – Pyx Lax, Limassol

 

Pyx Lax is a famous Greek band that celebrates its 30 year musical success with a concert in Limassol. They play rock songs mostly in Greek yet have music in English as well and have collaborated with international artists such as Sting. Their name “Pyx Lax” derives from ancient Greek, meaning “Punching and Kicking” and was inspired by the title of a theatrical play which was taking place in Athens at the period in which the band was formed in 1989.
