If you are looking for a spot of history and art, while in Limassol, instead of the run-of-the-mill day at the beach, then head the Limassol Municipal Art Gallery, and walk amongst the paintings and sculptures of local artists.
The gallery houses collections of paintings by well-known Cypriot artists, including Adamantios Diamantis, Christophoros Savva and Telemachos Kanthos. The ground halls showcase representative samples of art by new Cypriot artists, and the basement holds the National Liberation Revolution tribute collection, which belongs to the Historical Remembrance Council.
The museum’s open all year round (except on public holidays) with free entry . Opening and closing times, as well as entrance fees may change from time to time so it’s best to check before visiting.
