The top 10 Brunch spots in the capital

For a truly delectable weekend we reserved a spot at our 10 favourite haunts…

Brunch has to be one of the hottest trends of the last five years, and it looks like it’s here to stay. Plenty of coffee (and perhaps a Bellini, if the previous night’s exertions were a little overwhelming!) accompanied by freshly baked bread, cheese and eggs will soon set you right.

Here are our favourite spots to brunch in Nicosia…..

Café La Mode

With a branch store in the Onasagorou, Makariou, Akropolis, Dasoupolis and Latsia areas in the wider Nicosia district Café La Mode has become one of our top spots for breakfast and brunching. With freshly baked savoury and sweet treats, a full English breakfast, healthy options as well as pancakes, there’s literally something for everyone.

ΕΑΤ: Visit Cafe La Mode at the weekend in Onasagorou and try their rich brunch buffet, which includes Spanish frittatas, French toast, zucchini cakes, waffles, marmalades, croissants and many other goodies at €12.50 per person.

Brunch time: Mondays to Sundays 09.00-12.00 in all CLM branch stores and on Saturdays and Sundays 11.00-15.30 a Brunch buffet at the Onasagorou CLM.

Banco Kitchen Bar

Open for just under a year, Banco Kitchen Bar is already one of the most upscale options in the centre of Nicosia. For a bit of a change create your own brunch before 11.30 am with various dishes from the menu.

ΕΑΤ: Croque Madame with crusty bread, melted cheese, bacon and a béchamel sauce topped with two perfectly cooked fried eggs (€7.50).

Brunch time: Daily from 10.00 am until 15.30 pm.

D.O.T

One of the first places to initiate us into the brunch culture. D.O.T. loves to experiment, changing its menu changes every year. During weekdays it offers a mini-brunch.

ΕΑΤ: Poached eggs dusted with chilli flakes served on a multigrain bread with an avocado paste, baby arugula, cherry tomatoes and asparagus (€8).

Brunch time: Mondays to Fridays 12.00-16.00 with reservation only. Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays 11.00-15.00 (no reservation required).

Get Fresh

Possibly the healthiest brunch spot in the capital, Get Fresh is based on Lemesos Avenue. Fresh bio-eggs, multi-seed buns, fresh greens, seeds and gluten-free pancakes for the grown-ups and a super healthy brunch for the little ones. The cold-pressed juices are a must-try.

ΕΑΤ: Scrambled eggs with spinach, edamame beans, broccoli, sunflower seeds, red bell pepper, squash and two slices of bread toasted chased down with plenty of filter coffee (€6.50).

Brunch time: Saturdays 09.00-15.30. On weekdays in all our stores with breakfast options.

Bistro Mouson

Bostro Mouson offers a street-side brunch with a view of the Faneromeni high school. Enjoy your brunch with coffee, juice or even a cocktail.

ΕΑΤ: Prawn Cakes with homemade mayonnaise, fresh chips and greens (€12) and for an added charge of just €2 you can top it with eggs. Divine!

Brunch time: Mondays to Sundays 11.00-16.00 (on weekdays mini-brunch is served).

QBoo Bakehouse

Located on Prodromou Street, the QBoo Bakehouse is a temple to bread! Here you will find freshly baked croissants, bio bread and their now infamous bagels. Before you stock up on supplies for home try their special and revamped menu.

ΕΑΤ: Three authentic German brats with sauerkraut served with fresh country bread and a fresh green salad with honey mustard sauce (€8.95).

Silver Pot

When you cook with love the results are unique flavours inspired from the four corners of the world, and the proprietors of Silver Pot enjoy creating wonderful menus for their customers. Recently, they’ve also introduced Afternoon Tea on weekdays.

ΕΑΤ: Gluten-free coconut pancakes with quinoa or a green salad with spinach, chilli and onion served with freshly grilled halloumi (€9).

Brunch time: Saturdays and Sundays 10.00-15.30. Breakfast choices daily 08.00-12.00.

The Boys

Described as a ‘playground for adults’, The Boys is one of the more notable brunching spaces in the capital. If you are the social type, and dig meeting interesting people then the awesome flavours and hospitality of this brunch spot are for you.

ΕΑΤ: Three fluffy pancakes served with Nutella, maple syrup or toffee (€6) to which you can add fresh fruit, biscuits and even bacon!

The Market Company

Here brunch is a ritual. The Market Company menu consists of the classic options like eggs, but also boasts original hearty dishes for your lunch – brilliant for sharing.

ΕΑΤ: Share poached eggs on toast with avocado and hollandaise sauce (€7.50) or a Market burger (€9.90) made of beef mince and accompanied by freshly cut fries.

Brunch time: Mondays to Sundays 10.00-18.00.

Zest Coffee + Kitchen

The menu in this warm space which exudes an air of Scandinavia changes depending on the season and what is fresh on the market, with only bio products used. Various egg dishes are included, as well as wraps and homemade pies.

ΕΑΤ: Eggs with tomato cooked in a skillet or baked accompanied by fresh greens (€7).

Brunch time: Saturdays 10.00-16.00. Mondays to Fridays include both savoury and sweet breakfast options.
